We celebrated Hallowe’en old style! As part of our History lesson, we played Hallowe’en games from the past. We also had fun tasting traditional Hallowe’en treats! Take a look!

Maths Week

Maths Week took place between the 15^th and 22^nd of October. Maths is all around us. In 3^rd class, we decided to do a Maths Trail to celebrate Maths Week. We were put into groups and were asked to think of Maths questions both inside and out of the school building.

Here are some of our questions:

What is the length of the picnic table?

How many bars on the railing?

What is the length of the football pitch?

Budding Entrepreneurs

Third class came up with the idea of making greeting cards to sell at the Summer Fete. There were birthday cards, thank you cards, christening cards to name but a few. The children decided on selling the cards individually and in packs of three. On the day, they had the help of Mrs Fiona Hutton and Mrs Sandra Roche. They were very successful and managed to earn €52 from the sale of the cards.

With the proceeds of the sale, the children made a wish list of the games that they would like to have in the classroom. Below, are the games that were purchased.
